On Thursday 27th October 2016, Uganda Investment Authority hosted a 10-man delegation from Malaysia in response to the invite by Hon. Musumba Isaac, the Minister of State for Urban Development during his visit to Malaysia in August 2016.
The delegation comprised of surveyors, architects, financiers, physical planners and constructors. The main objective of the visit was to explore opportunities in development of satellite cities in Kampala’s environs
Ag. Executive Director, Mr. Lawrence Byensi, welcomed the delegates and delivered a presentation on the general investment climate and investment opportunities in Uganda.
The delegation was also interested in Malaysian investments in Uganda, and the top ten sources of Foreign Direct Investment to Uganda.
UIA pledged to collaborate with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) for information exchange and investment promotion.
