Have a cup of Coffee!
Welcome to the first edition of Investment Coffee Break Online. It is Uganda Investment Authority’s considered opinion that if you are having a cup of coffee, 80 to 90 percent of the time it will blended with coffee from Uganda! Uganda is now Africa’s lead coffee exporter before Ethiopia, which has traditionally led the major exporter’s pack. This makes Uganda seventh globally in 2015 after Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Honduras, Indonesia and India! Uganda is one of the world’s major Robusta producers and Uganda washed Arabica is being increasingly favoured by roasters and consumers around the world. So have a cup of coffee!
Investment Coffee Break Online is intended to update you during your coffee break on the status of the investment environment in Uganda. This edition includes highlights of some of the activities UIA has been engaged in while fulfilling the mandate of attracting and providing aftercare services to domestic and foreign companies that set up business in the country. You will find some potential private joint venture opportunities, as well as a perspective corner that will regularly provide some ‘food for thought’ in a wide range of topics on business.
The tri –annual Investment Coffee Break Online intends to be in your email box every after 4 months and we welcome your contributions on issues you feel are pertinent to investment in Uganda. Thank you reading this edition so far and we hope you look forward to the ones to come.
