Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is an agency set up by an Act of Parliament (Investment Code Act 1991), to promote and facilitate private sector investment in Uganda. The Authority offers information and guidance on investment opportunities which is necessary for building an informed and strong business community.
Out of the realization of the need to scale up facilitation to the Business community, promotion of investment, provision of investment opportunities and creation of employment, UIA has embarked production of sector profiles for aiding investment and also on creating a data base/Centre for storage, accessing, sharing and updating of data on the social economic and business operating conditions of the economy to enable the business community operate in an informed environment. Data will be collected on macro as well as micro and socio-economic indicators which affect investment from various government bodies (MDAs) parastatals and private sector Associations within Kampala and Entebbe.
Uganda Investment Authority therefore seeks to recruit Research Assistants
Duration of contract: One month
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics or Business Statistics/Economics /Business Analysis/Actuarial Science or the equivalent from a recognized Institution.
- Knowledge of computer data entry, processing and analysis using Micro-soft packages.
- Knowledge of survey design, data collection and analysis techniques
- Skills in data entry, analysis and report writing
Experience in a similar or related assignment will be an added advantage
