Hon. Evelyn Anite, Minister of State for Finance, Privatization and Investment, Mr. Morrison Rwakakamba, Chairman of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), and the Director General of the UIA spent part of today in Banda visiting Fabrication Systems (U) Ltd.


The Minister and the UIA visited the company as part of on-going efforts to understand investor needs in order to promote the use of locally sourced and locally produced goods and services.


Hon. Anite stressed the importance of the BUBU policy being implementable in her remarks, thanking the company for not only locally sourcing materials and therefore producing locally fabricated products but for providing Ugandans with gainful employment.


Speaking during the visit, Mr. Rwakakamba noted that the work of the UIA is to ensure that a positive and enabling investment environment is established which will not only encourage investment and the creation of jobs but also help achieve the industrialization agenda faster.


Mr. Robert Mukiza, the Authority’s Director General, reiterated that the Authority is taking a more proactive approach to investor relations by actively reaching out and visiting investors where they operate.

Fabrication systems Managing Director, Mr. Kalpesh Mehta, thanked the government for letting companies continue operating despite the pandemic in his remarks. He highlighted that the organization is taking all required procedures to protect its employees while production continues.

Fabrication systems, among others, works in/with fabrications in steel, signage, aluminium civic work and turnkey projects, general fabrication and elevators and escalators.
