COVID-19: PUBLIC NOTICE ON OPERATIONS OF UGANDA INVESTMENT AUTHORITY

Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) wishes to inform all her esteemed Investors, stakeholders and the general public that in compliance with the President’s directives on measures to control the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), we shall continue with operations but limited to a few essential investment services. This will be for a period of 30 days (a month), effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

To ensure business continuity, our operations will be limited to essential services, particularly, virtual/electronic processing of applications for investment licenses via the online portal, www.ebiz.go.ug. Dedicated skeletal staff have been deployed to attend to Investors (applicants) who would need to be served.

Entry restrictions are being enforced at all our premises (Head Office, industrial parks and upcountry offices in Mbarara and Mbale). Conditional access will be granted to visitors who are on appointment and have got prior clearance, as well as those delivering official documents and essential supplies.

Visitors who are granted access are advised to follow disinfecting instructions and procedures at all entry points and within the premises; and wear facemasks, if possible. Persons (visitors) having signs and symptoms of Covid-19, specifically flu, cough and fever/high temperature are advised not to visit the premises, and instead go and seek medical attention.

We request our visitors and other stakeholders to adhere to these measures and help in controlling the spread of the disease. We regret any inconveniences caused. Let us all, together, join the efforts in fighting this deadly pandemic!
