Uganda Investment Authority hosted a 10 man business delegation from Russia. These investors were attracted by Uganda’s vast investment opportunities including agro processing, the financial sector, waste management and aviation.
Hon. Bagiire Aggrey, the State Minister for Works and Transport attended this meeting where investment opportunities in the aviation industry in Uganda were discussed at length. Great emphasis was placed on building a standard airport, developing and maintenance of a storeyed car park, establishing a free trade zone at the airport and certification of the airport as required by international aviation certification Authorities.
Among this group of investors were Afri- Exim Bank representatives who made a proposal to build the airport and revamp Uganda airlines.
UIA reiterated its commitment to facilitate all investment projects in Uganda.
