Strengthening investment ties between Uganda and China

Ambassador Dr Chrispus Kiyonga paid a visit to Mr Morrison Rwakakamba, Chairman of the board, and Mr Robert Mukiza, Director General of the Uganda Investment Authority today. His excellency, together with a dedicated Chinese Investment Executive team, discussed the Uganda-Sino relationship outlining industrialization, agricultural modernization, infrastructure, Financial Services, green development, trade and investment facilitation, poverty eradication, public welfare and public health, people to people exchanges and peace and security as areas of investment between the two nations.

His Excellency also highlighted a number of key pipeline projects such as the East Africa (Uganda) Industrial Park under the Holley Group, the Uganda Hunan Industrial Park under the Lugu Medical Group of Changsha and the Aquaculture industrial Park- championed by investors from the Haikou Hainan province.

The Uganda Hunan Industrial Park will be the first pilot government to government built industrial project between the Government of Uganda, through UIA and the Peoples Republic of China represented by the Hunan province.

These investments speak to the bilateral relationship between China and Uganda and future business prospects as per the comprehensive cooperative partnership
