Uganda Investment Authority in partnership with Ugandan Diaspora Network announced the Diaspora networking events scheduled for later this month.

There will be a Business Breakfast on 29th December at the Kampala Serena Hotel where Ugandans in the diaspora and the Ugandan business community who are interested in exploring joint ventures will have an opportunity to dialogue with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government. On the 30th of December, there will be a networking gala dinner during which outstanding members of the Ugandan diaspora will be recognized for their various achievements. Ronnie Mayanja, the Ugandan Diaspora Networking Gala coordinator said “We’ve worked with Uganda Investment Authority on this activity for more than 10 years now. It is a partnership we value greatly and is also testament to the value the investment promotion agency places on the immense contribution made by the Ugandan diaspora to the Ugandan economy.”

Since 2003, Uganda Investment Authority has been holding diaspora investment promotion events which have been held annually since 2008. These events have been organized in different regions of the country to provide for opportunity to showcase the various investment opportunities and the status of development in those areas. Over the years, UIA has partnered with Ugandan Diaspora Network to crown the Diaspora Investment Promotion Season that has in recent years been consistently held in December. This year, in an effort to engage as many members of the diaspora community as possible, UIA has opted to focus efforts through these two events to reach even more members of the diaspora than has been possible through the regional activities. “UIA is very keen to provide support, guidance and service to the Ugandan diaspora on how best to invest their hard-earned money in viable investment projects in Uganda.” Said Kaguhangire.
