President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) to have in place mechanisms that speed up the processing and approval of social and environmental impact assessments (SEIAs) for investors.
In a meeting with investors and officials from NEMA and Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), the President said the environment agency should put in place a pre-category plan in order to avoid assessing every factory that wants to come on board.
