Investment Minister Anite inspects infrastructure works in Kampala Industrial Park

The State Minister for Privatisation and Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite, has had an inspection of the development of various infrastructures in Kampala Industrial and Business Park, Namanve.

Namanve, Uganda Investment Authority’s flagship industrial and business park, is located 11 kilometres from Kampala City centre, along the highway to eastern Uganda and Kenya.

The five-year Namanve infrastructure project is funded by the Government of Uganda using a facility from the United Kingdom Export Finance to the tune of 240 million euros.

The infrastructure works include roads, industrial water supply, industrial power supply, drainage systems, sewerage systems, waste management systems, security lighting, and ICT, amongst others.

Minister Anite, accompanied by the Chair of Uganda Investment Authority, Morrison Rwakakamba, and the Director General, Robert Mukiza, walked the length and breadth of the 2000-acre industrial to ensure value-for-money in the works.

The Authority plans to establish 25 industrial parks across Uganda to boost Uganda’s industrialisation agenda.
