Indian investment and business delegation visits Uganda

A high-powered Indian investment and business delegation is in Uganda to explore various ventures.

The 60-person strong delegation comprises representatives from the Indian government, chambers of commerce and industry, and businesses from diverse sectors like agriculture, agro-processing, agri-tech, ICT, healthcare, automotive, solar energy, education, and infrastructure.

Welcoming the delegation on April 8, the State Minister of Finance (Privatisation and Investment), Hon. Evelyn Anite, said she was optimistic that Indians, being great entrepreneurs, would help in transferring knowledge and skills to Uganda as well as creat jobs.

According to the Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Dammu Ravi, the delegation is exploring possibilities of creating collaborating tie-ups with local companies in various sectors.

He says the visit will not only strengthen bilateral ties between Uganda and India but also unlock new avenues of collaborative ventures for both nations.
